Need HPX ignition settings help
I just installed a electromotive HPX crank fire ignition on my 69'
911 'E' motor which is stock except for 40 webers and headers. Since I never ran one of these kits what are the best settings? The instructions call for 12 degrees initial,24 degrees @ 3000 and -2 degrees at 8000. Are these settings OK for this motor. This will only be run on the street. |

You can initially mimic your stock advance curve, however Richard Clewett claims that engines with the higher 3k RPM advance show more torque. I have a 3.0L but it's twin plugged and I use 8, +21, and +2. However a single plug motor will have more advance.
I think 12 is still a bit high for initial settings despite what EM says.

I don't understand the nomenclature evidently.
The idle timing for my '71 2.2 E is 4 ATDC. The advance at 6000 RPM is 35 BTDC. Are you fellas describing some points on a curve or something?
