Need HPX ignition settings help

I just installed a electromotive HPX crank fire ignition on my 69'
911 'E' motor which is stock except for 40 webers and headers.
Since I never ran one of these kits what are the best settings?
The instructions call for 12 degrees initial,24 degrees @ 3000
and -2 degrees at 8000. Are these settings OK for this motor.
This will only be run on the street.

You can initially mimic your stock advance curve, however Richard Clewett claims that engines with the higher 3k RPM advance show more torque. I have a 3.0L but it's twin plugged and I use 8, +21, and +2. However a single plug motor will have more advance.

I think 12 is still a bit high for initial settings despite what EM says.

I don't understand the nomenclature evidently.

The idle timing for my '71 2.2 E is 4 ATDC. The advance at 6000 RPM is 35 BTDC.

Are you fellas describing some points on a curve or something?
