Wheels??
I would like to purchase some 8 x 16 “Fuchs for my 1983 SC CAB to widen the back just a bit. Looking at different messages there seems to be different types.
Is there a basic 8 x 16 " Fuchs or are there different types. I want to make sure I am asking for the correct wheel. bk ![]() |

As I understand it, there are basically two versions, the 911 wheel and the 944 (951) wheel. The 911 wheel will push the "extra" width out and the 951 wheel will "hide" the width more inward. A lot of guys run the 951 8 up front since it does not stick out as far and the 911 8 or even 9 in the rear.
If you search the archives you can get more exact answers or PM '70 FASTY (Alex) he sells a lot of Fuchs and is a very nice guy to deal with. I am in the process of refinishing my new set of 7x8x16s right now and can't wait to get them done ![]() Good luck! -Chris

There is only 1 +10.6mm o/s 911 wheel for use on the rear of an SC or Carrera flare car.
There is also a 944/951 8x16 which has a +23.3mm o/s and fits the front of a 911. the +23.3mm 8" wheel can be identified by it's recessed lug nut holes wheels

There are two general flavours of 8x16 fuchs:
911.362.117.00 and 951.362.117.00. For the rears, use the 911.xx version and for the fronts use 951.xx. A quick search came up with this thread: offset of 8" Fuchs Therein lies a link to fuch information (hint: see Bill's response). Cheers! ![]() P.S. the search function is your friend! |
