			My experience is that what most people call cad plating is actually zinc dichromate or "yellow zinc". A few years back I asked for cadmium plating, the plater threw a fit but did it, and the parts came back quite a bit different than what you see in this thread or in factory parts. When asked, he told me that what I really wanted was zinc dichromate, which apparently is much less environmentally nasty and cheaper to boot. I regularly bring in a bucket of old parts and get them plated for $50 for the whole thing....good result. Plater is Wespen Industries in Calgary, Alberta.....ask for Bipin Bhat....
