DME setting questions

Which setting will help me with my smog issue? It was set at 0 (at test time) t but I moved it to 1, which is +3.1%. It feels better at idle and runs smoother through the low end of the power band. In my current situation I am failing at idle. @ idle my HC is 205 and my CO is 0.48. I am passing at 2500RPM with my HC at 102 and my CO at 0.53. Anybody know which setting might give me the best chance to passing both? And please... I don't want to hear about my Cat being bad. I've seen posts where they have past without one.

I think you need to find out why your HC are at 205 at idle (this doesn't pass??? - I thought it did).

IIRC - high HC could be either too lean, OR too rich. Your NOx would tell. If your NOx is high, (again IIRC) then you're lean.

If you're lean -
It could be a vacuum leak, usually at the intake runners at the heads, check these.

I think you have an intake leak, especially if it "feels" better when you "turned the dial" on the DME.

Good luck.
