I need this part and its name please.

Her is a pic of the part in question. It connects the arm to the lock. Its part of the automatic door locking system. Also if you know where to get it would be great.
Thanks

I've tried to do a search with no luck. This has been discussed not too long ago. John Walker had some input. I'll keep looking.

I don't see it in the door exploded diagram. Since you're in LA, take it to (or call them) Porsche-Audi on Santa Monica between Westwood and Sepulveda. (Their address is given on Pontius--look up on Yahoo yellow pages for 90024).
Parts like this are hard to get anywhere but Porsche, which is why I'd say try em. Pelican might have one or be able to get one, but if not, give these guys a call.
(I always bug em for parts like this)

Might try a dismantler (junkyard) - especially in LA area - and pick up the whole assembly. OTOH, Mark's thread shows the whole assembly available at a dealer for 6 bucks.

The part you want is the one listed in MM83targa's topic link.

The whole rod assembly is what you want. That's the only way (that I can see) to ensure you get the right ball socket for certain. The part # is either 911.531.277.00, or what I assume is the superceded replacement part # 964.537.571.00. Thanks to RoninLB for the supercession info. Ronnie knows his stuff!

The part # 999.168.021.40 is a ball socket from the heating system levers in the handbrake console. This part # is from 88-up according to PET.

Pictures to clarify........................

The heating lever socket could incidentally be the individual socket, but I don't know that for sure. Only way to tell would be to compare them side by side. Since I have a '87, and I don't feel like taking apart the handbrake console or central locking? You're on your own.
