Normal Operating temp?

Outside temp is around 40degrees (F)
Stock Engine temp gauge only goes up halfway to the first large white mark. (Oil pressure is 3.5bar)
Seperate oil temp meter reads 122degrees F

What should the normal operating temp be after about an hour of driving (freeway cruising)?

Maybe my front oil cooler is valve is stuck open?

I've been having this same issue. On a cool day in Colorado I can't get my temperature up to 194 no matter how long or hard I drive the thing. Makes it very difficult to check the oil. I would think a thermostat stuck open would cause it to take longer to heat up than usual, but after an hour of driving it should be open by then anyway I think.

All opinions welcome.

it will actually heat up quicker idling then at high speeds as there is less air being forced through the cylinders.

Same here after an hour of 70/80 mph hwy driving and pushing on some back roads for 1/2 hour my temp is 1/4" below first hash mark, the only way this time of year under 50* deg. is letting it idle for 20 to 30 min to get themaostat to open. usaualy when needle is between 1st and 2nd hash mark, you just have to feel the oil lines under rt. front fender, the bottem line is going into cooler and top is going back to motor you will feel the heat. also you should hear the front oil cooler fan (its quite) "87"
My consern is that without ALL the oil hot, will this cause and over fill? I keep mine at just tip of dip stick

From what you describe, your temps sound just fine at those ambient temperatures outside, that is if you are referring to the needle being at approx. between first wider white hash and second thin hash at 7:00.

My Thermostat opens when neddle is between the thin hash marks, 10:00, and that only happens after long idle in the cold temps, all summer long it runs between 9:00 and 10:00 this time of the year 7:00 to 8:00
