Calling all 911SC guru's..quick tire question

what is the widest tire that will fit on the rear? right now, i have 215's, the guy at the tire shop says 225's will fit for sure, but he's not sure about 235's since the computer doesnt go back that far...will they fit?

thanks...

225/50-16 is standard but 245/45-16 fits nicely on the back. Are we talking about 16's or 15's?

It depends on what size rims you are running.
8x16 and 9x16 rims can handle 245/45-16.

255s are not normally available in 16s, but 255/40-17 should fit fine. Bigger is possible with work, moving oil lines and such, but this is not needed for a street car IMHO. In fact, IMHO, 205/225 is good for the street, though it doesn't look as cool as 225/245 on 16s, which requires 16x8 or 9 rears, and 16x7 or 951 16x8 fronts. searching for fuchs and perhaps '16x8' will get you lots of info on this.
