There are several others I could list but these will provide enough technical information, photos and specs to keep you busy for a while.

he VIN (WPOEBO918GS16....) would indentify this vehicle as:
Body - Targa
Model - Turbolook
Engine 930/21
1 out of 1976 manufactured in model year 1986

The Porsche 911 "Red Book" has no record of the above VIN. The closest is range is WPOEBO91CGS160001-1976. "G" Program manufactured between August '85 and July '86. The rest of the information is correct except the VIN does not indicate options and would not disclose if this were a TL. That info is found on the Vehicle Identification List (VIL), not the VIN. IMHO it looks like a normal Carrera with 6/7 Fuchs. I have the 8's and they have a noticeably deeper dish than the pictures.

VIN:
That's interesting (not in the Red Book). Anderson's Peformance handbook identifies the spot where the "8" is as a "test digit" ... whatever that means.

If you take a look at the picture from the owner's manual (above) the "8" is indeed part of the VIN.


Wheels:
With regard to the 8's you have .... it must look sweet. Would 9's fit and or look awkward on a regular Carrera?

I suppose if I ever wanted to upgrade I could install my 7's up front and get a used pair of 9's for the rear (and have them all refinished, of course)
