european headers
anyone ever try these?
I got mine today. They look nice, but the coating was done by a drunken 1st grader with a spray can.

If those are "Headers By George" they are great. I had mine shipped to get jet hot coated so I never saw the initial paint. But the fit was perfect. I bought the 1 3/4 for my 3.6
Send them off to be jet hot coated you wont be disappointed. |

Thanks for the tip.
I bought them from "Dart", they are called European Racing Headers.

I had these on the 2.7 that used to be in my car. Nice headers. Better than the Bursch from what I understand.

From looking at the picture I don't see how those are any different from a standard early set of heat exchangers with the heater tin cut off. The collector area (a key factor in header design) seems to be the same as the stock units. Are the dimensions any different?

To run those with a stock configured muffler, you would have to add a pipe. Looks lie a great start on a 6:2:1 system. |

For track use the short tube headers are ok, they tend to make power up high, for street and dual purpose use longer primaries are better.
In addition that collector design is not well thought out, there is too much distance between the outer pair. You really want the collector to be like these, where each pair is siamesed to the other 2 pair. ![]()

Zeke;
Doh! You're right, they don't have any secondaries to speak of. I wasn't looking close enough as far as the length, although I believe even the stock early heat exchangers are equal length. I've got a set in the garage that I'll measure when I get a chance. By all accounts, the collectors on the 901 headers are much closer to the ideal.

My car is still there, I guess I must add some $$$ to my project
![]() Now seriously, they told me that in my current setup they would not work properly. What set up do you guys have (Mark and Bill) that allows for the use of that exhaust? My car has a 2 liter with pauter rods, arp bolts, ti springs/retainers, cosworth high compression pistons and 906 derived cams. Ignition is an electromotive with twin plugs, heads are ported, twin plugged and polished by 901. Carbs are PMO 46's. Oil squirters, 965 pump, knife edge and boat tailed, ..... the list goes on. Look forward to your reply (if it can be shared!)
