Mounting mirror on Lexan?

I just put a new lexan windshield in my 964 race car. In order to finish the job, I need to re-mount my rearview mirror.

Is there anything I need to be aware of in doing this...special adhesives for mounting the mirror bracket to the lexan or something like that?

Can I reuse the bracket? How does it come off the old windshield?

I'm also considering mounting a Wink mirror or a panoramic mirror instead...any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I think it's most common to mount the mirror to the cage when you have a Lexan windshield. For a race car, I'd definitely suggest a panoramic or wink mirror.

It might sound scary, but I did this on my racecar by drilling and tapping the factory windshield mount, then drilling and countersinking holes in the lexan windshield, and attaching with stainless steel countersunk machine screws to the mirror. Solid as a rock, I used a very small amount of clear silicone during the install - no leaks.
