Need an answer on this

Guys im interested in buying a 1994 3.6 turbo car thats listed on ebay this week. Two things have me questioning the originality of it .
One is that the brake calipers are black . From what I recall porsche started painting the calipers red in 93 . So why are these black ? In the movie they are black too . This car was purchased new by Micheal Bay in 1994 and filmed in bad boys in late 94` . The Vin indicates that its # 410 out of 466 made so its certainly not an early release . Is it possible it could have been ordered that way since the car itself is black ?

The next thing is the engine fan . Dont the 3.6 engines have twisted blades or was the 93/94 turbo fans like the earlier 3.3 engines ?

As of now im the high bidder(cbprsr911) . I have not yet entered my final bid since its got a week to go.

Kurt,
This particular car has been a hot debate on verious Porsche enthusiast sites and if my memory serves me right i have read some where that it was in an accident and had some major ( ? )repairs done to it.There's nothing wrong with the repair work but as long as you know what you are buying then it's ok other wise look around, isn't the internet a wonderful thing
O btw have you ever thought about a 1991 C2 turbo,if interested i might be interested in selling mine.
Good Luck these are gorgeous cars.

According to the owner it has never even been scratched . All paint is original . There were 4 cars used in film . This is the one that michael bay himself owned and this one was used for closeups and interior filming only . It was never driven on the set . Even the on road video was fake . The car was parked and the surroundings were moving instead. As for the other cars ? They were the one`s filmed in action from an outside view. At least this is what the seller just told me 2 hrs ago . I also have a clean perfect carfax . But we all know thats not alway accurate.
How about my questions ? Anybody ?

Kurt,
Sorry can't answer your questions however few things i noticed about the car
1)- The engine bay looks pretty dirty and how come i don't see any stickers ( ? ) in the engine bay ?
2)- i think one wheel looks curbed and these speedlines are very hard to get repaired.I would also make sure all the wheels say " Speedlines by Porsche " or else they have been refinished.
I will try to get answers to your questions.

I suppose anything is possible to "original" by special order, the other 1994 3.6 turbos I have in my photo collection all have the red calipers and the straight fan.

Just my observation but the pick that shows the matching lisense plates looks like the car is in motion and it seems to be during the very high speed and abusive runway sequence. Not completely sure on that but I am just putting htis out. Its a great looking car I will give you that. The calipers also look like the big reds jsut painted black. But I dont know what im talking about too much, just a young kid with a porsche that reads the forums.

Kurt, if it is Michael Bay's personal car, then I think it would be ok. He's real anal about his vehicles. I know he is with his 3 F cars in his garage.

FYI, the licence plate display on the Front of the car seems to be an old french plate which attract my attention because usually everyone avoid to show numbers on their licence plate

Solid answers on the calipers and engine fan will be much apprecieated. I know its not a car you see everyday . Thats what makes it hard to answer .

C2 Turbos have fans with straight blades. They are different than the 964/993 curved blade fans. They look similar to 3.2/3.3 fans, but are different.

Sweet car!

Kurt,
Hopefully i will have answers to your questions pretty soon however if the owner special requested these black calipers surely the window sticker should have them mentioned as an option in it ?
I am pretty sure giving Porsche NA the vin # will also be able to get you an answer to your black calipers ?
Btw did you ask the owner about them ?

I will try the 964 forum as well . BTW I am aware that the C2 turbo 3.3 engine had the straight blade (I have a 92`C2 turbo engine) . Its the 3.6 engine that raises my question .
Yasir if I contacted Porsche N/A do you think I could get a responce by the end of the auction ? Do they offer info to people when you dont own the car ?

Kurt,
Sorry can't answer your question but it doesn't hurt to ask ? I already have emailed " Adrian stealther " who just published a book on 964's and hopefully he can explain all this.
