Needed: a speedo like this one!

My Carrera has a kph speedo and I'd like an mph one in the same style –
like this, with the 180mph at bottom (cable-drive, 915 trans etc.):

Can anyone help? Can anyone confirm what year/model they were fitted to?

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you.
160k is a ton, 200 is 120mph and 240kph on the M40 is just madness.
Better get me one of those speedos while I still have a licence.

PS is that an adjustable redline on the revcounter, or a sticker?

since the speedo on the pic does not have the silver center, I believe it was a post-'75 or '76 non-mechanical item that came with the SC and 3.2 cars.

Print out that picture, remove your speedometer and send both to a VDO repair place. Palo Alto speedometer and North Hollywood speedo should both be able to do this. There must be someone who does the same thing in the UK.

FWIW

I have a mph speedo in my car and would like a kph one to replace it. My car is a 1978 California delivered 911 SC. The mph speedo is not as pictured, although I can't honestly tell you what it look like since I don't look at it that often.

I wonder if it would be a straight swap?

Let me know if you're interested in a trade - I can get a pic. Oh yeah..the trip ododmeter is broken, but the total ododmeter is ok.

cheers

For those of you that just want to make your 85mph speedo or kph speedo a mph speedo like was standard on many of the cars (the above wasn't standard on any regular 911s, I don't think) you can send your speedo to Palo Alto Speedo or North Hollywood Speedo and they will make your gauges look like the normal 911 mph speedo. I think most of those topped out at 160 since most 911's were geared and had redlines that only put them at about 145-155.

I suppose some of the turbo's might have had speedos that went higher, but I don't think the tachs did.

That's a ST tach with a RS speedo. Hard to find but they are out there.
