Does it matter...
I had a little trouble splitting my engine and transmission. Giving the transmission a right good heave I forgot to unclip the little spring on the clutch folk! (I'm new to all this so I guess you've got to make mistakes!) Anyway...once I unhooked the little spring they split apart easily enough. However I then noticed that my heaving had caused the clutch folk to make a couple of small indendations in the release slip ring bearing thingy on the engine side. My question to you experts is...does it matter that this slip ring now has two tiny dents in it? Or do I need to buy a replacement slip ring bearing? Thanks for your help M

I am not sure what you are talking about!
If my guess is correct, you have ruined the Throw Out Bearing, that which you call Slip Ring. I would replace that bearing, or you gonna get some nasty noise.

Cheers...knew this wasn't going to be easy! One new 'throw out bearing' added to the ever growing list of requirements. I'm guessing they're really cheap and every motor parts shop has stacks of them in stock and they're all the same size etc.etc.....dream on eh! M
