H4 high beam problem, Please help

Ok finally have a chance to monkey with the install of H4s I bought from our host at GAF. Have this problem with the high beam. When I flip the high beam switch, the high beam seem to shoot down onto the floor. Right in front of me. The up down and sideway adj. is fine. I took out this cover/reflector thing that covers the bulb, since I don't have one in the h5 that came with the car. Could that be it? You guys thnk it is a defect in the lense? Should Iturn the bulb upside down?

Is the flat or I should say, the pin that's not prallell in the back of the bulb the groung connector? thanks, jeff

Is it possible you have the "low" beam connected to the high beam wire?

do you have to stand on your head to read the lettering on the lens?

John is thinking the same thing I am. You have the assemblies in upside down. You should see H4 stamped on the lense and it should be right side up.

you can only install the lense one direction, thicker on top and skinny on the bottom. Everything such as Bosch, h4, all of the lettering, and everything else is right side up. Something is funky about this one. I think I got defect? I did take off the dull metal cap with the 2 prongs that kinda goes over the bulb. I don't think that should be doing it. The concave lense shouldn't have anything to do with it? thanks for getting back at me so fast, Jeff

Monkey with this again last night. Check the high / low beam wires. Aimed it just like the stock light with marks on garage door, and drove it as well. Anyone want to put in their 2 cents? Has anyone ever get a bad H4 assemb. I've tried every combo necessary, and no go. man, Im pisssed. Thanks again, guys.

Where in So Cal are you? If you're nearby, you might want to take it over to TRE and have Dave and the guys sort it out. Otherwise, any reputable Porsche shop can probably help you (and there are many here in So Cal).

Scott, thanks for the tip. I'm in LA near Pasadena. Dave is 15-20min away. I'm embarrass to talk to them about this. I feel like a real DUMB A$$ about this one, because it's so simple and I can't seem to get it. Looks like i'll have to pay them a visit after this weekend. I am going to give it one more try.

Jeff
