Color code question.

The plate on my project 1966 911 reads color code 6206. The P.O. said the original color was Polo red but I haven't been able to verify this. I've found a German website that lists the code as metallic silver but according to that site it was only for models from 1956-1962.

Can anybody help me with this? Getting the Kardex is an option but I'd rather spend the money on parts.

Maybe you're reading it wrong? The red book says 6602 is Polo Red. I don't see a number 6206 listed. 6606 is Irish Green.

I scraped off several layers of paint that were sprayed on the tag and it's still 6206.
