87 Project progress finally!
On the way to the body shop. Had plenty of time to clean up the engine while it sat in my garage. The color is a 1964 special order color called Bali Blue. This is my first big car project. I've already got the weight down to 2420 dry (2600 full tank, stock weight was 2920 full tank.)

Wow, thanks for all the positive notes!
The car has 134k miles, 5 layers of poorly applied brown paint, so it wasn't good looking, ok maybe a 50 footer. Although solid running, she needed help. That's why I didn't feel the need to stay with the original color. The motor is stock, runs well, getting a twin tip exhaust and maybe a chip if the taxman treats me write. Bilsteins, ducktail, brakes are new. RS interior next. I wanted to restore a 74 Carrera, but I love the G50 and 3.2 combo, couldn't find an affordable 74, and so I'm backdating to that look. I have Fuchs and BBSs for DEs. Gruppe B #018!

I'll post more when I get them. I've been documenting every step, but I only got the one good one yesterday of the color. The rest looked very light from the camera flash. I don't know why Porsche didn't keep this color for more than 2 years, and then as special order only. I guess blue wasn't popular in the 60s.

Always welcome here and the beverages are on me. Do me a favor and bring me down a set of cheap 16x9s next time you come down.
