best early rsr repop bumpers?

not being one to leave well enough alone, i'm thinking about turning my 77 930 into an early RSR look. there was a recent post i can't find, about who made the best fitting fiberglass stuff. i'm just interested in the bumpers for now, well maybe a duck tail too. any non-horror stories?

Cool

I like the looks of the 930 however, one with a ducktail would be even cuiter.

I got my front bumper, fenders and hood from Hank at GT. No problems with fit other than a single driver's fender that was trimmed out of the mold too much for the door gap. Once I discovered the problem I had a new one within a week. Hank was great to deal with.

I also have a decklid from Peter at Rennspeed. No issues at all. I just block sanded, trimmed two edges and painted. the fit is very nice for a fiberglass part. Factory grill dripped right in.

jack, your front bumper doesn't look like it flares out to match the front flare. don't they usually flare out? it looks good without the front cooler protrusion. i have a fender cooler, so i don't particularly need that addition. clears driveways better that way too.

Peter made me a one-off front bumper when we were facing piecing together a normal RSR bumper (with the cooler box) and the S type, which I preferred. It matches the flares, but in a different way than that type of bumper usually does. It basically goes wider, without curving out to the wider point, so that there's a little more of a 'shelf' all around.

I assume he kept the mold, and could even tweak it further (we were in a rush), but I'd check with him.

You can see how it mates to the fender better in this picture:

John I got mine from Hank at GT. offered them up (seems like ages ago!) and the fit looked great. pretty sturdy too.

That's a steel impact bar protecting the AC condenser. I like it better than the basketweave-style protectors.

The Fenders and flares for my RSR clone are from GT Racing. The front fenders are standard non-flared from Getty and have the GT front flares bonded on. Auto Associates in Canton, CT have built several of these clones and they have found that this combo gives the best fit-up and replication of the original RSR look.
