8 = Year 1978
3 = 911 RoW and Japan 3.0L
0 = Coupe body
1346 = Consecutive serial number

A really useful and worthwhile document you can get from PCNA though any Dealer is the “build sheet” for your car. I think they call it “Certificate of Authenticity” or some such to justify the relatively high price of US$150. If you ever sell your 911, that document will noticeably increase its value.

For all the possible options, find someone who collects Porsche sales literature. Someone will have that info – I used to.

You can learn an immense amount about Porsche in general and specifically your 911 with a project like this.
