1970T 911 Doesn't start after battery re-charge.

All the lights are on, seems like i have power, but the engine doesn't want to turn over. ie. starter is stuck.

I also hear a loud whining sound from the fuel pump (?).

Car's been sitting for a couple months, started just fine before. Car is very original. any thoughts? thanks.

Have you tried the screw driver on the solenoid trick? Not the safest thing to do but might tell you if it's either the starter or the solenoid. Oh yeah it will toast the tip of your screwdriver.

i can't get a good ground from the charger clamp to recharge the battery. the body is no good because of paint everywhere.

Any other ideas for a good ground? thanks.

Take the battery loose from the car's electrical system before charging!

That will give you a chance to clean the battery terminals and cable connectors ...

The CDI unit can be damaged by BATTERY CHARGERS! ... per Bosch documents!

The whining or some call it a whistling sound might be the CDI unit. it should sound like that. Got a dremmel? Clean the connections. The engine should be grounded to the car frame, that connection might also be corroded.
