Seat sliders, howto refurbish, refresh????

I picked up some different seats that came with sliders. I was told the seats are midyear, and they look like midyear seats. So I assume the sliders are also midyear.

The sliders are rusty and scratched up. I do not see a way to completely disassemble the sliders. It looks like the rails are 'staked' at both ends to contain four ball bearings. Can I still get these powder coated? Or will that cause problems by gumming up the ball bearings? Hand grind and hand paint?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

93... metal bristle wheel on hand drill works. Perhaps media blaster would be quicker but might take longer to clean out & up later. Suggest cleaning rails of any internal grease before diving into surface removal---mineral spirits followed by brake cleaner. ...Then start removing finish. Got to coat these parts within hours or they'll immediately begin to rust. To prevent new surfacing media from entering bearing area, foam is cut and inserted into the gap on both sides and the ends are plugged. Don't want foam to interfere with application of coating so foam protrudes minimally out of gap. I used thermal cure paint and baked the rails after coating them at low temp in home oven. (Some say warm metal accepts new paint better---I did not try this.) Not sure what temp powder coat oven works at but same principle of sealing bearing chamber seems applicable. Would have to check with the one applying the PC to see if they accept the idea. Powder coating would offer a very nice finish but the rail area, IMHO, does not seem to warrant that degree of hard finish. Bearing area gets greased lightly as final touch.
