Wayne's book or Bentley Manuel?

Which one first? Does Wayne cover replacement of the fuel
accumulator? I'm pretty sure that is the problem from reading these posts. Crank forever until finally starts when warm, Starts fine when cold.
How difficult of a first DIY project would this be?
Seems like I will have to move a few parts to get to it but doesn't look real hard. Any thoughts? 81 SC.

Just get both if you are planning on doing your own work. Wayne's books are very nice at specific tasks and give a good description and photo's, while the Bentley books are more traditional workshop manuals with all the broader information that one would expect.

Personally I get all the documentation I can get (Bentley, Factory, Wayne etc) as I figure the money I am saving on work is easily covers the cost of the manuals and tools, plus informed choices means fewer misteaks and lower cost overall....

Definitely both. Wayne's book is excellent but it only covers the common stuff. I struggled with getting the Bentley manual because of the cost, but after I got it I wish I had never hesitated. If you're going to work on your car yourself, you'll end up with it sooner or later.

Looks like Wayne will have to wait. How hard is the accumulator to change? How much gas is going to gush out when I pull the plug?
Cant wait!
Thanks as always,
Steve

Both books mentioned and the factory microfische or factory manuals plus the Haynes manual and the Technical Specifications handbook for your car if you can find it.

Study them. Keep them handy in the garage. Buy them from Pelican.

Definitely both, but I was going to say wayne's first if you wanted to start with some basic stuff.

Is that carmine red?

Buy both.....the fuel accumulator is very simple to change....it is just remove and replace the input and output lines. It should take only a few minutes. Wayne's book details it.

Good luck and welcome to DIY, David

Well Wayne's book and a Fuel Accumulator are on the way from Pelican's.
I'll get the Bentley when the next project comes up. Thanks for all your help and look forward to my first DIY project!

Yes, buy both and the Factory manual, Spec Book, parts manual (CD) and more. Start yourself a “Car Specific Manual” here
There is no substitute for information. Dennis hit the nail on the head.

Best,
Grady

dont forget, you will need to prime the CIS system when you remove and install the accumulator. cant remember if wayne mentions it or not.

If you are knowledgable about cars and have worked on them in the past, then Bentley. If you are not knowledgable, then Wayne's 101.

If you are going to rebuild an engine, then both Bentley and How to Rebuild, no exceptions. You'll use Wayne's to do it, Bentley's to get further clarification of different viewpoints.
