lorenfb's recent posts in this forum - for the record

Since loren chose to delete a post that some of us commented on in a recent thread, I've decided to quote a few of his recent posts before he deletes them and denies all knowledge.

Another lemming who jumps on the "slamming" bandwagon without determining
who initiates the problems. You might do a search of "slammer's" posts before
"jumping on".

And what have you contributed to this forum of value to help other Porsche
owners other than stupid small talk, e.g. polish, pictures, & etc?

Looks like 3640 posts of spam, if you do a sample of your posts.

Wavey, so you can count and are not totally brain-dead, as you usually appear
to be with your lack of Porsche knowledge/contributions when making posts to this
forum.

Typical stupid comment! Luckily this guy is in TN with the typical "mountain boys"
and not here on the West Coast where non-hillibilly Porsches are.

How about some chrome wheels or spinners for them TN "Porschs"?

Intelligent comment???? Some more spam for the forum.

Something your low-rider Porsche probably needs!

Typical, say something but contribute nothing! Another Pelican who knows little
but what polish to use.

lots of personal attacks on specific people. I'm sure I'll be one of them after this post. He appears to have deleted several of the more offensive comments.

Wil Ferch 02-15-2005 07:11 AM

Maybe he's turned a new leaf ?????

Maybe the moderators have something to say about this?

KobaltBlau 02-15-2005 07:13 AM

Wil, you mean by deleting his posts? not a very honest new leaf IMHO!

RickM 02-15-2005 07:15 AM

Is he commiting BBS Suicide?

I find these comments to be out of character for Loren. (or at least up quite a few notches from earlier) Was his ID hijacked?

by this I meant I remember seeing other comments that I wasn't able to find in a search. certainly the one in Wavey's partwerks thread disappeared.

I think you should "tell on him." You know, tattletale.

dhoward 02-15-2005 07:26 AM

Loren was/is passionate to the point of insanity :) when it came to Bosch ignition systems and stock chips, but never seemed to get THAT personal....

juanbenae 02-15-2005 07:28 AM

hats off to ya andy. i asked him very nicely to "pound sand" yesterday and he called me a pea brain. i hardly slept last night because of it.

what? we all can see the posts. I just think he's wasting all of our time.

he got my hackles up after a couple of us tried to find a solution to the problem and the post we were referring to disappeared.

dd74 02-15-2005 07:39 AM

He's a purist from all I can tell. Maybe he subscribes to the idea a stock 911 is the best 911. I take his Steve Wong chip posts as examples of this thought.

But he is acerbic - there's one on every board. Take him to OT; he'll have a helluva time there.

crashmy911 02-15-2005 08:05 AM

some of you guys have too much time on your hands who cares what he says. Next thing you will want every one to have everything sent in here proof read. So we are sure not to offend any one. Come ON!!!!

KobaltBlau 02-15-2005 08:06 AM

There is a big difference between a good forum and a bad forum. this is a good one.

Wavey 02-15-2005 08:26 AM

I'm hesitant to post this, but it seems like the right thing to do.

Thanks, Andy. I think we need to keep the pressure on until Loren is banned from this forum. His unprovoked personal attacks are unacceptable. It's one thing to be colorful, arguementative, disagreeable or just a general jerk, but he goes way beyond that. The comments you've documented above are just the tip of the iceberg, and anyone who cares to do a search on his name will find plenty that is worse. He has an extensive history of being extremely rude to anyone who disagrees with him or who isn't quite "getting" things fast enough for him. The poison he spreads on this forum far outweighs anything positive he has to contribute.

I've PMd the 4 moderators of this forum, asking them to ban Loren. I encourage anyone else who agrees to do the same. But in the end it's really up to Wayne.

And before anyone else points it out - yes, I can be a little sarcastic here and there, but I really try to reign it in. Loren doesn't even make an effort.

MartiniRacer 02-15-2005 08:30 AM

move this to the Offtopic forum please ! Loren,s posts are more helpfull and technical then yours Andy

911teo 02-15-2005 08:32 AM

Something's up... he has never been offensive. Yes he's opinionated... but he's always been within the boundaries of respect.
Maybe someone has hijackted his login? That would explain why he deleted the posts afterwards...

And I am against banning anyone.. This is a public forum...

john walker's workshop 02-15-2005 08:40 AM

i agree, it doesn't sound like the normal lorenfb smackdown.

masraum 02-15-2005 08:45 AM

I have noticed some nastiness lately, and we don't need that here. Maybe something else is going on, maybe not.

charlesbahn 02-15-2005 08:55 AM

I am also against banning anyone (unless, of course, they don't like Guards Red or Gotti wheels).

SC-targa 02-15-2005 08:55 AM

I for one have often appreciated Loren's knowledge of electronics and how he recommends that folks send parts, i.e. cruise control modules, to Pelican for repairs. I would miss his inputs to the BBS.
