Any one know how to replace 1989 Carrera Fog Light Lenses?

I've got one that's busted.

It looks like they are just held on there with some little metal clips along the sides? Do I just bend those back to get the lens assembly off? And if so, what's the best way to bend them back once the new lens is on and how many times can this be done before those little metal tabs break.

If those tabs aren't the ticket, has anyone here BTDT on replacing the lenses? I could use a step by step procedure I guess.

I had to bend the metal clips back when I removed my fog light.

So you just bend those four little silver metal chips, and that's what holds the lens on? Is it the same procedure to replace the fog light bulbs?

Mine have two very long screws each, both of which were visible when I got close enough. No clips that I recall. The only difficulty I encountered was in trying to replace them - it was hard to match up the screw to the threaded hole in the fog light case. I'm pretty sure they're stock.

I second the two screws. That's what my '87 has.

Yeah, there are the two long screws on either side that you pull to get the black plastic surround off, but that didn't seem to remove the lens, just the surround.

Does anyone know for sure how the lenses are properly removed?

Still not sure we've got a definitive answer here. Anyone know for sure?

I went out and removed mine so I could show you with pictures.

Start by removing the two screws on the side of the fog light and remove the black frame.

With the frame removed you will see something like this. Bend back the 2 tabs on either side of the round screw post. Each tab as a hole though the middle of it. There are two more on the other side. Now remove the lens.

Here is a picture of the fog light with the lens removed .

To remove the silver back reflector with the bulb housing, there is a another tab at the bottom and center of the reflector that must be bent up also. You can see it in the picture. It sort of a bear to bend so take it easy.

This is on my 84 Carrera. There are some variations of Fog lights from year to year.

Cool. Thanks. That's what I thought but I wanted to be sure before I went and started bending stuff.

Mike, I saw a late 3.2 the same color as yours today. Man it was dirty, but it still looked good.
