Obviously, the time machine part of it would have to be functional... ;)

With that, one could just pop to the correct year and test drive a *brand new* 550 spyder or Farrari Dino or Model T for that matter.

Then, you could buy one and set it up for delivery to your father when he turns 18....

I totally want one of these too but time machine is definitely a condition. I used to think 88 mph was a lot until I bought a Porsche.

If I could have any car (street legal, of course), it'd be the Ferrari Enzo. I love the CGT but this car absolutely destroys it in terms of raw performance.

Any car in the world - street or track - Porsche 917-30 that Donahue drove.

What a monster. Holy Moly!!

McLaren F1 LM all the way, they actually had to de-tune them to run legally at LeMans; the 959 is like a boat by comparison. CLK-GTR a "C" hair behind.

I am suprised by the lack of Porsches and loads of Ferraris as your choices. What no Lambs or Lotus?

He he!

OK Jack, I'm going to use your first car as a specific example...

I want this...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109334059.jpg

...but with chrome grills, chrome turn signal lens edges, a one piece fiberglass rear spoiler w/o trim on it (probably an RS spoiler up front as well...also sans trim), bare rockers, chrome rimmed H4s (or H5s?) and...well, that'd probably just about do it as long as it has the 3.6!

A new GT3 Cup.....And.... a transporter full of spares and $100,000 per year operating budget.

Somebody Photochop Jack's "new" car blaaacck and add flares to it....

BTW, two things are going on here -- one is modern cars with current technology. The other is nostalgia for cars that were way ahead in their day but aren't now. The NART, the 275, the Dino -- and recall that magazine article that the 959 is now no better than a 993 (or was it a 964?).

Probably only the McLaren can run with today's super cars - and I'm not sure about that.
