Enzo vs. Carrera GT

I have a friend who has one of each. Tonight was my first time behind the wheel of the Enzo. Man, is it cramped! Even with the seat back my knees hit the steering wheel. Very tight Recaro's. Carbon fiber EVERYWHERE. I didn't drive the Enzo, I just sat behind the wheel grinning like an idiot as you can see in the pictures. The Enzo has stock exhaust and sounds pretty tame until about 5000 rpm then it starts to howl.

In contrast, the Carrera GT is pretty comfortable. Much more head and leg room than the Enzo and to my ear the motor sound is more raw and purposeful, if that makes sense. I drove the Carrera GT, but it was on the street and I can't really comment on the handling or performance except to say that the clutch is grabby just like the Sachs clutch in my car. Anyway, I just thought I'd share some crappy pictures taken with my cell phone.

You DID reciprocate and let him sit behind the wheel of your 3.6 SC, didn't you?

Fair is fair

Maybe he's just humoring me, but he always asks me how my car is coming. He seems to like it.

He called me the other day and told me he found a car he knew I'd love and he thought I could afford it. It turned out to be Jermaine Dye's 911 TT. Yeah, like I can afford a $110,000 car! He looked truly puzzled when I turned it down. Guess he thinks I shake the same money tree he does.

I've always admired Ferrari styling but once in a while they slip up. The Testarossa comes to mind and this car. Yikes.

Give me a 275 GTB now that's a Ferrari.

The CGT blows the Enzo out of the water in the styling department.

I'd take a CGT, Yellowbird, GT1, 993GT2evo, 904, Carrera6, or '67R over a 959. I thought the 959 was really cool when I first read about it at 16 or 17 in Road and Track, but now the looks just don't do it for me.

Two friends ran into a magazine photo team down at VIR. The team was comparing five cars including the CGT and Enzo.

Long story short, my friends offered the part of the track that they rented. End result? They came away saying the CGT was simply heads and shoulders above the rest.

Moses,

Thanks for sharing the pics. You certainly will not see one of those on the road everyday, unless you live in Southern California, LOL. However, an amphibious version might be more appropriate these days.

While I'm sure the Enzo is an engineering marvel, the styling leaves me stone cold. I find the angular design to be a throwback to some ugly Lamborghinis of several decades ago. The front end looks like some kind of home build, kit car. If I didn't know better, I would think there was a Pontiac Fiero under there.

That said, I like the C-GT much better, but its design doesn't WOW me either. I can't wait to see the new GT3. If it looks as good as the new cup car, it will be a thing of beauty.

That's certainly my impression. The Enzo is outrageously styled. I'm not crazy about it at all. I'm not huge, 6'2" 210 pounds, but I don't fit in the Enzo AT ALL. I don't think I could drive it safely. The CGT, on the other hand, feels great. I love the shifter position and seat position. I have plenty of leg room. Also I really prefer the sound of the CGT. The only flaw I can see in the CGT are the silly little plastic visors. Why bother?

If I ever won the lottery and price was not an issue, I would own the CGT.

After watching the video above on the C-GT, I may have to retract my statement. I now fall into the "WOW" category. Still pictures do not do the Carrera GT justice. It looks absolutely awesome in motion.
