Setting Dizzy in the 930

I'm converting my new 930 to carbs. When I pulled the distributor to swap to the Euro spec, I notice that the #1 Cyl position did not correspond with TDC on the pully (more like around 7 degrees advanced (I think). Is that correct?? I assumed that when I set the dist. I should have the crant at TDC and the rotor alligned with cyl #1.

Now I'm wondering if I should install the new dizzy with the same advance as the old one was installed at?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Daniel

PS: Anyone need a 3.0sc dizzy or CIS??

did you make sure that you used the z1 marking on the crank pulley? if you did then every thing you said is by the book....the marks on the distributor housing is just a reference point. after you get it running and set the timing more than likely that line wont align with the index when you pull the cap off. dont sweat it, just install it and time it acordingly.
