Question Fuchs 6 x 16 vs 7 x 16

I am putting my 7 x 16 fuchs up front and getting a pair of 8's for the rear. My question is on the 7's up front will the extra 1'' be equally split with 1/2'' going to the inside and 1/2'' to the outside?
I'm running 205/50 and the car is set at a euro height approx 24 1/2'' to the fender lip. I hoping I won't have any clearance issues with the 7's up front.

You will be fine with the 7s up front... it will fill out the well nicely.

The entire extra inch is on the outboard side....

If you run 225 tires on the 7's and your car is lowered you will need to roll the fender lips (I had to on my '89 when I did exactly that). My right side was a closer fit than the left.

I would say you SHOULD be OK with 7s and 205s. That is what I run, but I had to change out my old, tired, Boge inserts for some Bilstein HD inserts to stop the rubbing on sharp hits at speed. Now, it's good and I want to try and get to 225s next. More work to do first though.

To be safe before you learn the hard way and you cut your tires during hard cornering. Roll the fender lips!

Depends a lot on the "specific" tire...regardless of quoted size. Similar size tires may be square or round shouldered, and have vastly different overall widths...

I'd like for us to all get in the habit of quoting the actual "tire" that seems to work ( or not)...and not just the "size" like 205 or 225.

Someday

Like Will said the entire width of a 7 over a 6 is on the outside. See
here for additional details

You want to compare +36mm 6 w/ +23.3mm 7

Most cars will need some work done on the lips to accomodate this move.

Is that 205/50 a typo? Do you mean 205/55? I put 7's in front and 8's in the rear with 205/55 F and 225/50 R. In other words, I stayed with the standard tire sizes and it works/looks great.
