tach problem

My 1989 911 tach quit working. I pulled it from the dash and disconnected the main cluster of wires, which were all attached together. I also pulled out 5 separate light bulbs. Two of the light bulbs which are the turn signals work when I turn on the car. The other 3 bulbs, I presume one of them is the high beam light, and the other two light the face of the tach, do not work. Since these lights and the tach don't work does that lead the problem away from the tach? Possibly a wire problem elsewhere. HELP!!!!!
