Wow Damon, now that is cool!

BTW: I ran across this the other day, a somewhat unique approach - vinyl instead of paint:

WOw - just beautiful

How much money is he going to have in that car when its done? Worth every penny!

Thats not going to be a track only car is it?

That vinyl on the BMW looks awesome!! I wonder how it looks in real life. I bet thats 2 grand in vinyl and labor. I wonder how it holds up. The new M3s look great with those wheels. I looked at one of the competion M3s at a dealer the other day, the alcantara on the steering wheel and seats is to die for.

I have a question, though. I've seen other 911's with this paint scheme, and I always wish the stripe ran head to toe, without curving out on the front hood to that bell shape. My quirky tastes, probably. But were there Gulf-liveried competition cars that had the front hood done that way? I assume that must be the case.

Beautiful car, though.
Jack, Wyer painted his cars in a number of variations on the Gulf theme to differentiate them from each other...for quick visual ID purposes. Here's the reference car!

That vinyl job is called 'wrapping' and costs around $1500. It lasts about 2-3 years.

Nice work, Damon! My '72T is not worthy of your services. You're making me feel guilty that I'm going to have you work on my car.

Damon,

That looks fantastic! What will the engine for this car be?

PS.

Did you get the red shroud yet for a new mold?

Brian, thanks for input, owner has a high butterfly induction and is planning a 2.8 to mount it on. On the shroud front, no I have yet to receive the infamous shroud, but I did rework my mold and removed the "sparkplug wire " wear marks and reapplied the "hair"texture with great results. I think I should send you a new version for your inspection! you looked at the 2.2-4 seperate duct version at daytona, yes?

Bill, its a 911, and thats what I do. No worry!

I ran my fingers a cross the graphics and couldn't feel ANYTHING but a smooth, continuous surface. A measure of a great paint job in my book. Nice work ol' boy, nice work.

What you can't see in the photos is the amazing work that went into the chassis and the flares in particular. This really is a fine, fine execution.

And the colors are great.

Joe,

The fenders and flares are one piece fiberglass units. I believe Damon makes these from his own mold.
