944S2 / 951 Front Calipers on an SC

Does anyone know if there are adapters available to fit the front calipers from the 944S2 / 951 front calipers on an 83 911? If so any details and where to find the adapters is appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

I have the VCI 964 kit in my garage slowly being bolted up to my '71. It weighs the same as my old Carrera/SC brakes and thermal reserve is greater front and rear.

Bang for the buck is low. A good portion of your budget goes to machining all 4 calipers to fit an earlier car, while other options like 993 fronts only need an adapter. The extra money you save can then be put into 930 rotors which are big enough for just about anything you can throw at them.

There are many threads on this topic in the archives. 964 calipers are the same type as 951 and 944S2's, so add that term to your search. Check on the piston sizes and calculate the hydraulic bias, while the 944T and 964 calipers are externally the same, in terms of bias they are not.

I might be wrong, but it seems that those who have done 993 calipers over 930 rotors have also had the benefit of 951 7 or 8 inch Fuchs which have more caliper space/clearance. The 964 set-up fits inside 911 7 inch Fuchs and when used with 3.2 rear rotors and calipers provides a close to stock bias (once the pv is removed if you have a 3.2).

I am very pleased with my 964 upgrade as I got it done for much less than a 930 or 993 set-up would run to - though I admit that there seem to be cheaper 993 kits appearing now. I can run 45 minute track sessions with a nice firm pedal and good pad wear over multiple DE days. Need to bleed is greatly reduced.

Thanks all for your insight and direction. It seems that by the time I'm done having 951 calipers fitted to my sc I won't be saving much if anything. I think the answer is to look for a 993 setup w/ the 930 rotors if I can locate the calipers at a reasonable price. I will be posting the WTB in the classifieds. If anyone has a set of F&R email me.
Thanks,
Chris
