stuck in reverse??

Had a friend move my car and he died out while reversing. So he tried to start it up but the car would buck as if he wasn't depressing the clutch while still in gear.

Well anyway I took over and tried starting the car in neutral. Car bucks in reverse. Whoa! So i put the clutch in and still in neutral, car starts but as soon as I release the clutch it bucks in reverse. Put it in neutral but notice the reverse light still on???

After awhile I realize I can't put the shifter in the reverse gate feels like somethings blocking it hmmm? So I continue to play with the shifter trying all the gears and finally I notice I can slip in reverse now.

So I start the car up again this time it's normal shifts good as if nothing happened. But what happened??

This happened to another Pelican in Houston and he hasn't noticed any problems since.

I had a similar problem, but was stuck in 3rd.

Shift coupling had slipped and the little pin got stuck. Check out your bushings and re-align everything. (Under the center panel in the back seat)

Good Luck!
