23mm master cylinder question

I've got most of the differences figured out but still have a question.

-Where does the brake warning switch go? It's larger than the standard fitting for the hard lines. Can I do without it?

Also-the additional fitting on the front of the 23mm. Do I just plug that?

the brake light switch is a micro-switch by the brake pedal. the one on the M/C just turns on the warning light when one of the circuits looses pressure. just plug the extra holes. you will know when the pressure is wacko just fine. you will need a custom feed tube to the front inlet because it will be right under the steering rack boot. something with a tight 90° bend into the M/C.

As JW pointed out the brake lights are controlled by the switch at the foot pedal, this switch will need to be altered to mount a bit differently from stock, it is a simple mod which just consists of drilling a different hole to bolt through, I'll look for a pic, can't remember if I took one or not.

The warning light is a differential pressure switch that needs to sense the pressure in both sides of the m/c it won't work if it only has acess to one side and will hang too low if you try to mount it in the extra bottom hole.

I used feeds that are longer than stock, to get easier access to the feed ports you will want the angled connector pictured here. the stock actuating rod is also the wrong length.

In short ditch the warning switch, plug the hole.

It's only for cars w/lots of big caliper pistons

What a fantastic resource this board is...professional help on a Sunday. Thanks.

The MC came as part of the VCI 964 kit. It's all on and I drove the car tonight, in a week or so I'll post a detailed write up with pics. The brake light switch works with a big washer and the kit came with a new feed line, actuating rod and 90 degree feed connector.

I've got a leak coming from the banjo spilt for the front circuit and I plugged the bottom circuit with another hard line crimped shut. Not exactly safe but it was enough to take it out for a short drive to verify it stops in a straight line.

I'll pick up the copper washers and a proper plug tomorrow. First track day for the season is Summit in less than 2 weeks.
