Removing a broken rocker arm
Hi,
I've the rocker arm close to chain (exhaust, cylinder 1) broken. I'm trying to remove it via the litle space (hole) between the chain housing and the rocker bolt (allen 5mm). I think it's possible to unbolt it, but I'm wondering if therefore, the bolt itself can be slided off because of the little space. Anyone has already done that job. Thanks to all.

I assume that you are referring to the rocker arm shaft removal.
One end of the rocker arm shaft is a 5mm allen and the other end is an 8mm allen. You will need short allen sockets to get in there. Once loosened, you can slide the shaft out.

kqw....quite correct...but...
make sure you have no residual "pressure" from the cam onto the shaft...you should be on the "heel" of the cam like when you adjust valves... I know this is sorta obvious...but sometimes we get fixated on a statement and forget some obvious things....BTDT. Wil

This is possible, that's why it's a good idea to put all the 5mm socket heads facing toward the center so you can reach them with the engine installed.
Don't forget to chamfer the edges of the new rocker face since they're sharp when new.

As always Wil, You are correct...
Rotate the engine to the cylinder you are removing the rocker... Thanks Wil....It was obvious to me But...I didn't think to mention it...

Thanks to all for replies. It seems I have to "chamfer " the edge.
I guess (sorry, I'm french) chamfer refers to removing sharp egdes. So what tool can I use, steel whool ? BTW, do you think I need to replace cones and/or shaft ? Thanks again for your help. I'l do this stuff this WE. Philippe
