1983 911 SC Targa (Pictures!)
Just thought I'd share some new pictures of my car. Two weeks ago I got my car back from TRE Motorsports where Tyson worked some real magic. I wish I had a lift so I could share pics of the beautiful underside. I have some friends who work at a local sports arena, so I had a chance to toss my car around in an empty 18,000 space parking lot. Impression? Tyson is a genius (jenius?
) The car is tight and responsive. Still has great street manners. Suitable for a daily driver but in the curves, the car is TRANSFORMED. As I mentioned before, here is what was done;Fikse FM10's (17") Brembo GTP's w/ 23 mm master cylinder Recaro Pole Position seats Elephant Racing Monoballs (rear) and Elephant polybronze bushings Turbo tie rods 22/28 Torsion bars Rennline triangulated strut brace Koni adjustable shocks front and back Smart Racing sway bars Alignment and corner balance. Anyway, here are the pics.

That looks outstanding! I'll be done with the same mods on my car within 2 weeks--the wait is killing me! More details on the suspension changes and how it handles!

That is a beautiful Targa.
Tyson and I were talking the other day about your car. It's a good example of how a bunch of different mods can work together when there's a plan behind it -- as opposed to just picking a few things out of a catalog and crossing your fingers and hoping for an improvement. The sum can be better than the parts. I'd change one thing, though. Recaro can't be paying you enough for a decal that big. Would it peel off with a little heat?

In turns, the "roll" is gone. The car stays flat. No wiggle in the rear end after completing a turn. The best way to describe the handling is to compare the car to a go-cart. It feels that good. Also, the classic Targa squeak and twist is gone. The car is very tight. You'll love it!

The Brembo GTP's with the 23 mm MC gives pedal feel and position very close to stock. No problems noted with front bias, but it's still early. Dave at TRE says Brembo has worked that issue out. I love the brakes, can't wait to get them on the track. Don't know what offsets the wheels are. Dave told them they were for an SC, and they are perfect. I'm running 255's on the back with room for a little more. I have 215's on the front. Should have gone with 225's. Lots of room up front.

Looks really good! I like those wheels on that car!
Did you put in any sort of stiffening in the door area? like those targa braces or some weld in solution?

Excellent mods and gorgeous car Moses! Having a similar set-up, I can tell you it only gets better the more you drive the car.
I highly recommend a BK harness bar as a finishing touch. It really complements the strut bar and you'll be surprised how much it stiffens up the car even further.
