Hi,
Ok here we go! I have a 1975 Porsche 911 updated to a 1993 Turbo body and I would like to update my KEY also. I was wondering if I can get a switchblade porsche key? Here is a picture of the key. This blank will fit the following vehicles: PASSAT,BEETLE,JETTA,GOLF,CABRIO,EUROVAN 88-97 ;FOX 93-98;CORRADO 88-97 They do not make a specific one for Porsche. So finally my question, will the VW key blank match the older Porsche key blank? Or will any other vehicelkey blank match the older Porsche 911? Maybe I'll buy a VW switchblade key blank, as per above, and get an expert key cutter to cut it nicely. I would imagine only a true Porsche tech could assist me and help me out with this! Would be a great upgrade for any Porsche owner!! Thanks! Last edited by SAKI; 04-10-2005 at 07:52 PM.. |

not much of a help, but, when I needed a new key, I went through several different lock smith shops and none of the key blanks they had worked. I finally went to the porsche dealership and their keyblank worked, so i doubt one from vw will.

you might be able to take out the vw blank and put the porsche blank into the switchblade thingy.
Although, to me sounds like a lot of work for what benefit? jeremyb |
