Color name and year?

I have been looking for a 911 in a factory color that I would describe as a bronze or root beer. Not sure of the years it was available but I would guess in the 80's since I saw it on a turbo with a whale tail.

Can anyone help me out here and do you know if it was offered on a targa? Anyone know of one for sale?

Thank you
Jeff

might it be the 'weissach' edition to which you refer? no pic to show, but do a search and you'll find plenty of info on this car..wheels match the paint color and i think they are '82 or '83 models only.

Try going to Paintscratch.com, pick a year, say 79, and see if you see the color, say, Mocha Brown, then ask again...

Dan, that color is close but still not quite enough bronze color. I'm terrible with colors but I think it has more red or orange with the brown.

Thanks.

This is a '76 code that was available to best of my knowledge as a special order in other model years.

I can provide the code for '76 if the color looks correct.

Almost the color. Is that the L436 Burg. Metallic Clearcoat? I'm guessing that the color I'm looking for is L443 Copper Brown Metallic Clearcoat. Still not sure.

Thanks

Yup, L436. Copper Brown is darker and more brown from what I've been told. Glasurit calls the 436 Sahara Diamante, and it looks coppery in bright sunlight, more brown in shadows and only picks up a burgandy hue in certain light.

Tim,

I think that's the color. What is the code? Is that copper brown or the L436? Thanks
Jeff
