3.2 Carrera engine swap oil line backdate

Im starting the plan for a 3.2 carrera swap into my car. No more changing my mind about my engine. Im not kidding, its actually in my garage.

The engine has the stock 3.2 hard oil line coming from the pump to the tank. Can I have a hose fabricated to go from the end of the stock 3.2 hard line to my '72 tank, or do I need to backdate the oil lines? Whats the 'right' way to do this?

TIA

The stock '72 lines should work fine

Nevermind, I just saw in your other post that you are using the 3.2 exhaust.

Yes, you will need to have something made unless Chuck has something on the shelf

So is there any harm in jumpering the oil line over to the stock tank if i keep the 3.2 exhaust?

TIA

I would consder updating my oil tank, a 3.2 tank fits in the space if you cut away some of the body where the old tank was, that is how I did it, then everything works.

Does a 72 have an oil cooler already, if not ask and I will point you to how I overcame that issue on my 1970

nope, no oil cooler. Ive seriously thought about losing the '72 oil system. Coolness factor aside, its going to be a PITA with this engine swap. I know that eventually Im not going to be able to find parts for it.

check out these pictures

http://addictionmotorsports.com/vodiOilLines.htm

there is no indent in the rear inner fender on the earlier cars so I ended up looping the oil lines up in the rear fender area, the pics kind of show that.

I can take more if you need a better view

Thanks!

You've thought about using an SSI exhaust and the hoop type oil line?
