Very nice. Hard to believe it's the same car I saw at Willow the day that it expired (along with my 914). Everyone says it needs the rocker trim. I dunno.............

trim it will have, I like the early look. I also plan a duck tail for track, and want to find and early decklid (65-68) to have to run sometimes.

Here are a couple of pics of Scruffy without paint. People would always mumble something under there breath about the way she looked on the outside until they got spanked by a 33 year old porsche with a 2.4 motor. Thats the biggest laugh of them all. BTW, underneath all that primer is a well preped race car.

I AM SPEECHLESS!! Great job, I think that both Scruffy and Scrappy have improved greatly with thier new owners, each adding thier own touches. WOW, I can't believe how good that looks. Congrats!

James, Fantastic! Scruffy really cleans up well. Very impressive. I hope you got some good pics of the progress along the way. It would be nice to have for future reference. It would also make a cool post. Scruffy gets a new suit...

If you need a stopover when the car goes to CA, let me know. You are more than welcome to stop by for the night.

3.6 will be sick in that car. Love it!!!

suuuh weeet! the color does make you think of a more vintage porsche, a la the 356..great, great classic color. and the wheels are perfect..are they a truly matte finish or are they just what freshly anodized wheels are supposed to look like?

James,

Car looks sweet! I dunno bout the rockers though. Car has some of that outlaw 356 speedster feel to it right now coupled with tasteful polish.

The lack of detail stands out as it's most attractive detail if that makes any sense.

BTW, how nice is it to have the car in your own garage instead of humping to Jersey from the Apple?

Scott

thanks everybody. The network is slow today at the office so I will have to post the pics of the paint process later but I will if y'all want me to. Scott, it is great to have a garage and not have to spend $$$ on cabs to work on my car! Jamie, no plans for a Texas stop this time (gonna take rt 66) but thanks, you make a great burger!

bigchillcar I got the wheels to look like that with some mag wheel cleaner. They normally are more polished looking.

Nice Nice - but then again, I am partial to silvery cabs with lots of rubber stuffed underneath them!

Well, I agree - I'd like to lower mine just a little more - but if I do = It will rub - not all of us can afford custom wheels! HAHA - Get that car out on the track! See mine compresses pretty well!

what you can't see is that I had them use some of that new rubber chip resistant stuff under the base color in the rocker areas (lower have of the front and rear bumpers, etc.) we also did 5 coats, 2 base, 3 clear with buff in between. I have not even waxed the car yet!
