Twice, and I left the tranny in place and just pulled the engine.
Besides, I don't have any friends

ive pulled my engine tranny combo in and out so many times i can,t count . (been doing it 25 years) normal floor jack . once out rest engine on some blocks . put blocks under the camtowers. then you can unbolt tranny and slide out . to put tranny back in i just pick it up and make sure fork is aligned and slide in . don,t expect difficulty , it,s not there.

Install is easy with one person, you just roll'em up and in, right? The real trick is getting it all wired back up. I had a heck of a time getting this to run right after the install... and shifting, well that's another story.

I have nover done a motor only but have done the motor and box together a few times.
Once I have the motor and box under the car I lower the car nearly to the floor and then proceed to lift the motor. Michael |

Never done it, but I'm about to. On top of that, my wife volunteered her weekend to help me in what ever I need. I've read 101 Projects about three times now. I've got my list, just ordered the parts from Pelican, scrounging another from Parts Heaven, have jack stands and ramps, a floor jack, my ATV jack, and in a week or two we're going in.
Besides, after I screw it up, Renn Tech is only a 30 dollar tow away.

I takes me about 4 hours to drop my engine and trans by myself. That includes jacking up the car, draining the fluids, pulling the CVs, etc. These cars are super easy to work on

Let's see,,,it takes you four hours,,,hmmmm, times three, plus Miller Light breaks,,,,,,OK - That means if I start at 0800 hours, then I should have it out before sunset. Things are looking better already!!!!

Just don't forget to detach the fuel lines (send and return) and oil breather lines in the engine compartment. I tore both breather hoses on a drop a few months back.

Is the engine already out? Just make sure you don't try to re-install it until you get and post the manditory picture of you standing in the engine compartment.
Sorry, I don't make the rules but You gotta do it.

Cold Start, nope. No longer for sale. Ther Moneypit and I are at odds right now,,,and I will win. Besides, I can't dump 3k into a car that's had 20 k put into it, then sell it and net 9k. It makes me dizzy.
Sammy, what's the big deal? Randy is right. Fishcop wins the contest for the next 100 years. He!!,,,he scared me when I saw that picture. Regardless, the motor is out. Motor and tranny 5 1/2 hours over two days, seven Miller Lights, two peppermint Scnaaps, a half dozen or so feel and walk arounds to make sure all was well, two phone calls, and absolutely no broken lines, bolts or other parts. Did it alone, too. I'm feelin' kind of proud of myself!!!!
