Hoping I'm not hijacking, but after I got the G50 fork update, when I release the clutch I can sometimes hear what I think is the fork hitting something slightly. A single slight tap sound. I've seen this to be normal on some other cars and I'm just wondering if this is normal on G50s.

how did I know you'd have a problem with that?

In order to save space, Kevin's motor has to double as a dining table at home.

Steve, my G50 with update doesn't make any noise. I did a spring centered clutch instead of the original rubber centered type FWIW.

My G50 flywheel was resurfaced by Ollie's. No problems whatsover with the 930 spring-centered disc. Also, no noise issues with the factory clutch fork "update".

Good suggestion by the guy who suggested checking out the head temp, speed & reference sensors. Mine all worked fine, but the heat had gotten to the wire insulation and begun to fray so they wouldn't have lasted much longer. Another while you're in there...

Talk about lack of anality, check out the couple of old allen bolts I reused because I forgot to throw them in the box to go off to cad plating. This still chafes me:

You may want to take a good, hard look at the 3-way fuel line on the top of the motor...:) It doesn't get any easier to change than now.

Is this the motor that is going to become the 3.4L turbo?

I've bugged Souk a number of times about the timing and reference senders on his own 3.2. On this motor, they look good to us. Sheathing included.

Only thing I recall being a possible sensor issue was the head temp. sensor. Motor still has the one wire instead of the updated two wire unit. Souk's on it.

The motor also already has the updated troublesome fuel line. I think it was replaced a few years ago due to a fuel smell issue.

All in all it's a really well cared for motor. At 96K miles, 17 yrs., it looks and sounds much better than my motor did at 62K, 13 yrs.!!

I've noticed this noise you speak of as well. Mine does it when the clutch is released. I'm guessing it's the fingers on the fork contacting the ears on the release bearing?
