Wider is Better

I saw an incredibly wide 911 (and lowered) on the MASS Pike this morning and I thought it looked freaking AWESOME. So it made me wonder...what is the widest 911 out there? How far can you go with flares? Anybody got pics of super duper wiiiiide porsches?

Send a message via AIM to Az911
This is about as wide as you are going to get on a 911

Length is important too.

Didn't the SWB cars have handling problems?

That looks a bit strange. it reminds me of a ball of clay sitting for awhile. The clay tends to flatten out. Don't get me wrong. That's a cool ride.

Man, I wish I could tell you. But it was going in the opposite direction and I didn't have time to make a good memory imprint. I just recall seeing the shape and thinking, "Wow!" I know it had a wing and appeared to sit very low. I saw it near the Weston tolls going west.

Jack: I saw the thread about that Mirage RSR conversion but had not seen the most recent pictures, thanks. And Holy Cow...they are really sculpting those flares to flow beautifully and naturally from the fenders. That is just pure artistry.

Doozer: Are you fabbing those flares yourself? How wide do you expect the final rear track to be?

Yes I am fabbing them from Fleese and fiberglass, at the moment they are at 79.5" but I am looking at a pair of 930 rear arms so then it would be around 82" - Trying to make a square car

PS: in the photo where the rear quarter is primed light green ( HOK ) I have 3/8 sockets taped to the top edge of the wheel to set my minimum clearance

That depends on whether you think oversteer is a problem or an asset.
