Rennshift question for James Adam

Hello James,

Tried to email you via your site info. address but got bounced. Thought I'd try you here.

Will you help me with some questions regarding your newest model Rennshifter?

Your new version as shown on your site has a chrome finish on the main shift tube. Is there the option for the original factory look with the factory knob and the black tube finish? Also will my stock '85 leather boot fit over your tower unit?

I am also wondering what the difference is between the manual and the automatic reverse lockout?

Regards,
Simon

Looks great. Not sure If I would want to be competing against Wevo with only $100 price advantage in this market. Looking forward to some testimonials. I wonder if I can Pay pal payments??? that way the wife wont catch it :-)).....:-(....

Hmm, that's funny - I'll look into that.

There is no option for a black shift lever, but it could easily be painted.

The factory shift knob will fit.

The tower is smaller that the 915 tower, so the factory boot fits fine.

The automatic revese lockout works just like the original 915.

The manual lockout has lever that must be moved to allow access to reverse gear.

I entered the market to provide a shifter for the side-shift 914 (WEVO does not make a shifter for this application). It was simple to build a version for the 911 while I was at it.

I don't mind competing with WEVO, I am way too backlogged at the moment.

Also, my shifter has different features than WEVO's. I provide less of a throw reduction (20%) that can be adjusted to 33% if desired.

If you do not have a 915 shift housing to install the WEVO in, the RennShift is nice solution because it is a complete shifter (no old housing required).

Gotta run - feel free to hit me with more questions.
