did lose belt mess up my fan?
The center hole in my fan is rooted out. I think I left the fan belt too lose and then the problem grew. Is this what really happened?

Replacing the pulley halves and using the right number of shims will correct the problem.

Now I don't feel so dumb! The car only had 4 shims when I purchased it! I then went and lost one of them in that hole by the lower crank pulley. I have purchased some more and will make sure to use all of them when my new fan arrives later this week.
Does everyone agree with the assessment of to few shims leading to this rooted out fan?
