Idle speed w/AC on
I've got a 1984 Carerra, and when I turn on the A/C the idle speed drops to 800rpm from 880. I thought it should increase 50 rpm. Anyone have any insight? Thx.

Your turning a compressor hence lower RPM.

The AC compressor status goes to the DME. What it does with it??? Your guess is as good as mine.

Yeap Normal.
Hey do you have a Chip Mod? 84 RPMs should be 780-800 RPMs. If chipped it should be 880.

no chip mod, but I am about to order Sw chip. Ive done everything I possablly can do to get this engine running smooth at idle. All sensors are new or adjusted no vacume leaks, complete rebuild 5000 miles ago, valves adjusted. I figure that when the A/C is turned on that the DME will compensate with a higher RPM with the increase in load.
