rdane, The project sort of got out of hand didn't it? Looks great. I was wondering if you removed the sunroof did you weld in a new top? Did this work out like you wanted and how much time did it add to the project? Also how much wieght did removing the sunroof save?

If it works as good as I hope Triad will own the 3.6 transplant market on price alone.
What is different about your muffler? I believe I have the second one made, and while I have dyno results, I have nothing to compare it against. What will you use as a reference? Cats with tips welded?

The lay out on my is slightly different than the first two Rob. Dave delivered it tack welded only. Mark then cut and rewelded it for a perfect fit with my bumper (SC style for fit).

Running dyno numbers against the original custom muffler on this 3.6, which darn near equaled Craig's full house set up while in a terrible state of tune.

DG, I did not replace the roof. Mark pulled everything and seamlessly welded the sun roof slider in. Turned out perfect with almost zero body filler. That was just the first of the many projects over the winter on this car.

I have the numbers of what exactly came out of the roof weight wise but can't to ity at the momnet. I'll get back to you on that one.

BTW -

Sound deadening you are having installed is smart.

In the roof etc - there is a fair amount which may be a bit heavy, but you will enjoy the car more.

people usually say approx. 30 lbs. saved to remove the sunroof motor etc.

check Jim Calzia's web site for more info.

Maybe, but I doubt it is even close even using just a glue in fiberglass insert.

My electric flag mirrors and all the sunroof parts including the motor, in one box, was 16.5#s on a US postal scale. Mirors weighted more than the roof parts I suspect.

I did use the steel sunroof panel but it is not 15#. More like 5#.

2 electric flag mrrors and the sunroof delete dropped a total of 16.5#.

Kinda like RS door panels not much of a savings for the effort. I just wanted the head room.

Stripping and adding Brownbread in th cabin was one of my first DIY projects. Much improved the cabin noise and dropped a bunch of weight.

I figured with the current weight loss program the sound proofing in the headliner ( the majority should be foam ) was worth its weight in gold on a long trip.

speaking of mirrors. Which type of mirror are you going to use on the exterior. ...or none at all.

Brownbread???
What's that?? My car is noisy, and while it's a good noise, even the most dedicated gearhead likes a little quiet on a long trip!

Bone head interior guy hasn't seen himself clear to finish my seats in the last 6 months...so my car won't be there.

Thanks to Craig I keep him from adding 35#s to the roof today. Subcontractors can really be idiots.

Call it a major delay. Only one more disappointed than me is the shop owner and he was really pissed.

That has got to be the ugliest COLOR I've ever seen on a 911. How dare you!

All those custom mods are really in bad taste....

Just who in the heck do you think you are?!?!

...and that interior......what were you thinking???

You can't do that to a 911 without " group " approval. How dare you!!!

Can I have first ride? Please? Pretty please w/ cream and sugar on top???

I don't weigh much and I'm kind cute...in the right light of course...

Edit: Beat me to it...forget it...I don't wanna ride now...damn interior guys...

Sorry about that Dane...it'll be right at the end though.

Man, you guys up in the NW are brutal, we here in Texas are so much more accepting of other people's faults. Can't we all get along?
