Semi OT: Paint and bodywork in Mexico?

I have seen posts in the past on other boards about people having paint and bodywork done just over the border in Mexico, around th TJ area. I was wondering if anyone from this board had work done and how it went? are the pirces worth it? any concern about the vehicle? Pictures?

thanks!

There was a guy named "redbeard" (or something like that) who had work done south of the border. He was pretty happy. Do a search for "Tijuana" or "Mexico." You'll probably find his thread.

I got curious, so I did a search. Here's the thread with the info. Apparently Red-Beard was VERY happy with the work on his car.

Theres no need to cross the boarder anymore. We've imported TJ to the San Fernando Valley. Soon to be in a city near you too.

I miss my hometown

Friend of mine had her 635CSi painted by CarCoa in the valley, turned out very good for a auto paint chain...

I'm a New Yorker so I do not know much about crime. But, a friend of mine visited TJ recently and had his wallet actually stolen by the police, so take that as a word of caution.
