Who has the best prices on the RA-1's for the turbo? Tire Rack?
Thanks for all of the kind words. Great group. |
Tire Racks prices are hard to beat and fast delivery. :D

After getting that close to her, you'd better give those leathers a chance to dry out, old man.:D
Really good save, I'd say, congrats.SmileWavy |
Beautiful car.
I'll go against the grain, though, on the Toyos. In my opinion, they're not practical for use as a street tire. Their lifespan is measured in heat cycles, not tread wear, which means short trips will shorten their lifespan dramatically. They'll start to get hard pretty quickly, they're loud, and they'll be terrible in the rain. (Especially in a 930, this last point could mean a premature death for a beautiful car.) They're a great track tire, but they're simply not designed for street use. Unless you're looking at 95% track and 5% street useage, like some of the guys on this board who run them on the streets, I'd go with a tire that's designed for what you're using them for. S03's or KDW's would be better, in my opinion, for a Seattle 930. |
Very nice car you have there. Amazingly low mileage, especially for a '77. I love that old original style tail!
I'm jealous:rolleyes: |
Low milage, turbo charged, nice curves, welcome you lucky bastard you.
Me say nothing more. |
welcome to the board, and congrats on your new 930! You know that once it comes back from the shop and it gets its first bath in years you're required to post pics of it, right? :)

It's been a very long while that I haven't seen the original red dot in the middle of the brake pedal. Very nive omen.
Keep the car as original as possible, it will only raise its value over the years. |
I'm installing Yokohama AVS Sports on my baby. They were highly recommended for handling the torque & HP our cars put down.

Hayabusa my brother wears kilt in parades, a little to drafty for me, anyway great car, Kevin

Great looking car...the best IMO...enjoy!

Hayabusa,
wow what a find, that is a niiice one........ black is definately the color for that beast! have fun and drive the crap out of it!, sounds like she has many years to make of for after sitting around so long. I dont mean to highjack, BUUUUTTTT i noticed a few of the guys commented on the early 2GRILL tail, I HAVE AN XTRA ONE JUST LIKE THIS ONE,....... its even freshly painted black,..... if anyone is interested in it, i was gonna put it up for sale...... havent yet. |
Very nice! The best of both worlds: a lightweight turbo. The early turbo is about 100lbs or more lighter than the later ones.
|
I am going to put Yokohama AVS Sports on the rear of my 930 later this year (the Yokohama AVS Intermediates have just about had it).
Whether you are aware or not, you've got an updated oil temp gauge in your 930. Nice! |
I've used AVS Sports on another car, and in fact have four of them size 225/50-16 with only 5k miles of use,two of them will be going on the back of the car, and a new pair of 205/55-16's will be on the front. I found their handling to be most impressive on the street.

BOOSA with the leather legs..(alpinestars....) Nice ride !!!!
|
I'll second the AVS Sports - and add to the list of envious. Sweet car - I am a big honling fan of the simple early turbos - don't lift!

First, I want to say thank you to everyone for the grand welcome. Long day sogetting back to everyone just now!

Farging BS! I recognized that it was the 'Tire Rack's' page.  :D I contained myself and asked if he would print the quote so I could balance out my thoughts and get back to him. (These were Pilot Sports, b4 coming here for the education). I went home, pulled up TR's page and even with S&H I was saving over $250.00 going thru the internet. Quote:

Very nice.
Like George says, I too wouldn't stray to far from original with that 930. |

You want the truth. I detailed exclusively for Paul Weir for 4 and a half years while building my business. (Oops, I spilled the beans) I got the skills down! Hehe. Quote:

Top speed so far (cringe) has been 205 indicated. With my 41 tooth rear sprocket that equates to approximately 186.55mph calculated. This is not an actual speed because density and temperature is not factored in. Still, hauling some serious Scot Irish ass. SmileWavy Hey, C.H. I’ll do a search on the AVS’s. But I think I’m leaning toward the S03/2’s. :) Kevin, I do wear a kilt AND I thro a caber 100 yards, laddy!!! Well, at least, that’s what I say I can do in the frickin’ pub! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/spit.gif |
