More New Diecast

These new 1/43's are made by Ebbro, a Japanese company. They do very nice work and are of comparable detail and quality with Minichamps. They are producing the 73 Carrera RS (Minichamps only does the RSR) and a long-awaited 906 Carrera 6 that looks absolutely stunning. If Pelican doesn't have these, try my local shop, www.sportcraftcars.com -- Curt

Here's another new 73 RSR release from Minichamps. I think these are available now:

I got the 3 colors from Ebbro(off www.ewacars.com) a while back...really nice! Colors are: white/blue, yellow/red, white/red...the only complaint is they dont roll like Minichamps...I dont play with them so it really dosent matter.....

I bought one of Ebbro's 24 hours of Daytona Mazda RX7s from from 1979 (I think) recently. The quality is very nice, right down to the plaid seat covers. Look forward to seeing the RS.

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

I remember when I first started posting on Pelican. Guys would get excited about scale models, and I couldn't figure it out. 'What, they're going to play with them, like they're a little kid or something? Are they going to make the engine noise with their mouth while they do it?'

Then, of course, I saw a scale model that looked like my car.

And the answer is: yes, I make the motor noise sometimes.

That black one looks cool.

Chad, these are nice, great looking builds. But I'm not sure what they are doing. Is this a builder service with completed cars for sale or is it a personal site were they are just showing their skills? I don't see any pricing so I assume they are not for sale.

There's a doctor who used to live in Hawaii who collects Porsche scale models. Or should I say EVERY Porsche scale model - all scales, plastic, diecast, slot cars, toys, everything. He buys many of them from my friend at Sportcraft. He had a museum built on his property to house them all. Last I heard he moved to Texas and needed to use 2 of those huge shipping containers they use on freighters just for the models. I think there were 20,000+ at last count. And I thought I had a problem with 600 ..... -- Curt

I remember seeing one order go out to him. It included a bunch of individual Porsche slot cars AND several complete slot car track sets with the very same slot cars included. Thank god for crooked teeth .... -- Curt
