Broke Short shift kit part NLA. Any Ideas on Fix?
Well, it seems to be the spring blues for me and My porsche. I had the car out last week, and when having to move the car to fast into first, I managed to break the Short Shift Shifter block in the shifter mechanism (954-424-124-00). Easy fix I think, order from pelican, up and running by the weekend.
Well, I find out Pelican doesn't have any and don't know when they will ![]() Any Ideas? I can't even find a short shift kit on Ebay to canabalize one from.. It's out of a 1980 911 SC. Chuck

Stoddard has a lot of obscure and HTF parts. I'm told Stoddard is owned by Porsche AG. Not PCNA, but the factory. Makes sense they would be the parts depot for all the unique stuff.
I think you could have simply welded the piece. That is, if it's the one I think you mean that the shift lever pivots on. Glad you found a replacement, but don't throw away the broken one. You or someone else may need it someday. Send it to me if you really don't want it. I have a new-found fascination with shifters and am working on some modification designs of my own. We'll see what comes of that. |
