Source for Swing Arm Caps?
Anybody found a souce for the expansion plug/cap in rear swing arms? I had to drill holes to pound the torsion bars out, and would like to replace them with new.
Apreciate any help! Kirk '71 T |

Standard freeze plugs fit as do those nifty pipe end caps in red and green. Sorry, available from auto and pluming supplies stores.

Pelican sells them. They go by the name spring plate cover.
EDIT: Sorry, that's not the name for what you are looking for. I'll find it. PN J-040-008-01 is for the front end. Maybe it fits both ends. Last edited by Zeke; 05-22-2005 at 06:32 PM.. |

Thanks Guys,
I did buy a couple of freeze plugs, but don't like the way they look. And, the front control arm plugs are too small. I found a 39.7mm aluminum plug that I will try and re-size. Here is a picture of what I am looking for. I found it in my employer's parts index. It's NLA, originally released in 1939! Kirk ![]() |
